Alliance for Youth Liberation (AYL) ILEOGBO, a Sociopolitical group congratulated Nigerians on the celebration of the nation diamond jubilee of Independence
In a statement released by the group General Secretary, Comr. Salimon MUBARAK AKOREDE, the group as called on the citizen to remain steadfast in third preseverance towards achieving the tenacity of the independence and equally called on all the stakeholders at different strata to ensure smooth implementations of masses oriented policy as a panace in achieving the goal of striving for freedom.
The group describe October 1st as a day on which we manred citizens of Nigeria whose vision and tenacity of purpose won us independence. For ages, our country as not for found it easy in transversing the tenacity of Independence to positive side of the history, but more importantly these challenges has made us stronger and more united as a nation. The promise of independence is yet to be fully felt in all spheres of our lives; however this does not diminish our commitment and hope for the Nigeria of our dream. The last one year has been very tumultuous in the history of our dear country, from security challenges, to economic uncertainty, oil spillages, flooding, and most recently globally pandemic outbreak virus. Our country could not have been immune to all these challenges as some are natural occurrences, man-made or a result of global economic crisis. Notwithstanding, we have made remarkable strides, especially in our steady march to freedom and the rule of law.
Rather than dwell on our many shortcomings, we should celebrate and acknowledge the sacrifices made by our founding fathers and all Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora in ensuring the protection of our freedom. As we think about the meaning of freedom, we cannot think of it apart from the sacrifices it has taken for us to come to the point where we are today. Our nation is blessed with so much even if things do not always go the way we want. The qualities of our human resources alone exemplify the country’s huge potential.
As we wish Nigerians a happy anniversary, we strongly appeal to the people in federal, state and local governments to make life worth living for our people. For since 1999, these leaders have been siphon our common patriachy without consider the strideoof the nation among it’s contemporaryf and indulging themselves while ignoring the welfare of the people. They should turn a new leaf as we mark the independence anniversary.
