Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, has again called out on President Muhammadu Buhari over his alleged failure to secure the country from incessant bandit attacks.
Mr Yakasai stated this on his Twitter handle while reacting to the recent bandit attack in Zamfara State where unspecified number of citizens was killed.
Although Mr Yakasai did not mention Mr Buhari in his post, he, however, alluded to the general insecurity in the country, which falls within the purview of the President, since security is in the exclusive list of the Nigerian Constitution.
He said: “The rate at which lives are lost with no end in sight is heartbreakingly devastating.
“The primary and number [one] responsibility of any government is safeguarding lives and properties, without this, consider yourself a failure.”

Recall that Mr Yakasai was recently reinstated as a media aide to Mr Ganduje after getting suspended for criticising the President for allegedly lacking in empathy.
In the contentious tweet that caused him the suspension, Mr Yakasai had said: “I’ve never seen a government with zero empathy like that of president Buhari.
“So many times when his people are going through difficult time and expect some sort of tab on shoulder to reassure them that he is in charge, but he failed to do so. The I don’t care attitude is on another level.”
In another tweet, he had said: “To speak to your people over issues that are bedevilling them has become something like a favour you are doing to them.
Over and over again, you cannot spare five minutes and address the nation to calm them down, the same people you went round to the 36 states to beg for their votes, its heartbreaking.”
