COVID-19: List of countries with highest coronavirus deaths in Africa 

Africa has recorded over 5,800 deaths due to complications arising from COVID-19.

According to the latest numbers released by the World Health Organization, WHO, regional office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, there are 5,801 deaths recorded in the continent.

Africa has also recorded over 215,000 COVID-19 cases and 98,000 recoveries in 54 countries.

As of Friday, Egypt has 1,342 reported deaths, the highest on the continent, followed by South Africa with 1,284 fatalities and Algeria with 741 deaths.

Other countries are Sudan (401 deaths), Nigeria (387 deaths), Cameroon (215 deaths), Morocco (211 deaths), Mali (97 deaths), DR Congo (97 deaths), Kenya (92 deaths), Somalia (85 deaths), Chad (72 deaths), Mauritania (71 deaths), and Niger (65 deaths).
