The Senate has asked the Federal Government to rename the Ibadan Airport after the late former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
This was a sequel to a motion on “The Demise of Sen. Abiola Ajimobi” sponsored by Buhari Abdulfatai (APC-Oyo) and Teslim Folarin (APC-Oyo) during plenary.
Mr. Ajimobi, who was also a former senator, died on June 25 following COVID-19 complications. The red chamber thereafter observed a minute of silence in honor of Ajimobi.
The upper chamber also resolved to send a delegation to commiserate with the family of the late senator, the Oyo State Government and the people of Oyo.
