EFCC arrests twin brothers over alleged internet fraud 

The Ilorin Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested twin brothers, over alleged involvement in offences bordering on internet fraud.

Kehinde Adebayo and Taiwo Adebayo, according to a statement by the anti-graft agency in Ilorin, were arrested at their hideout in Ilorin the Kwara State capital, following intelligence report received by the commission on their activities.

The commission said analysis conducted so far on their phones and laptops linked them to the alleged offence.

The statement by Gbenga Adewoye, head of the media unit of the zonal office, said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Meanwhile, two convicts sentenced to three months community service over internet fraud are presently serving their sentences as ordered by a Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin.

They included Salau Olamide and Akinsanya Olamide Ridwan, who were each sentenced to three months community service over their involvement in internet fraud.

While Akinsanya Olamide Ridwan was sentenced for allegedly committing romance scam, Salau Olamide, was also convicted for a similar offence of cheating by impersonating and pretending to be one Rick Freeman, a white Caucasian.

Both were asked to sweep the popular Tanke road starting from GTB junction, to Abulenla furniture University of Ilorin road Tanke area of Ilorin, and control traffic in the state capital for three months each.

They were also fined N50,000 each by Justice Sikiru Oyinloye, in addition to their sentences.
