The popular accomplice of the alleged fraudster Hushpuppi, Olalekan Ponle, popularly known as Woodberry, has also hired a criminal defense lawyer from Chicago to represent him at court.
Woodberry has hired one of Chicago’s top lawyers called Micheal Nash. Micheal Nash has been practicing law for 55 years now and is one of the best in the America Judiciary system.
Woodberry was arrested alongside his partner Hushpuppi in the apartment of Hushpuppi in Dubai. The two are currently held in the United States of America after they were taken away from Dubai.
Woodberry is facing criminal accusations on wire fraud conspiracy at the district court in the States. Woodberry’s first appearance in court was on the 3rd of July 2020 and the preliminary hearing was set for Thursday, July 16th. It has been reported that Woodberry used a fake name called Mark Kain to dupe a lot of companies in the United States through Business Email Compromise schemes.
His first appearance in court was on July 3, after which the preliminary hearing was set for July 16 before Judge Jeffrey T Gilbert.
However, as provided by a section of the U.S. laws on the release or detention of a defendant pending trial, Woodberry will be remanded in the custody of the U.S. Marshal until further order of the Court.

On Thursday, Mr. Nash is saddled with the task of securing Woodberry ‘s bail. If found guilty, the alleged might be liable to a jail term ranging from 20-30 years.
