Oyo State has recorded 30 new cases of coronavirus
Of the 30 new cases, 27 are from a firm in Ibadan, iSON Xperiences.
Governor Seyi Makinde made this known in a series of tweets on Saturday.
He said, “Nine confirmed COVID-19 patients have received their second negative test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to fifty-eight.
“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for thirty suspected cases came back positive. Twenty-seven cases are from iSON Xperiences and one each from Ibadan SW, Ibadan SE and Oluyole Local Govt Areas. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as of 5.30 pm on Saturday is 233.”
Meanwhile, confirmed cases of coronavirus have increased to 7,526 in Nigeria,
This is after 265 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country on Saturday.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this known on its website.
NCDC said, “On the 23rd of May 2020, 265 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.
“No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
“Till date, 7,526 cases have been confirmed, 2,174 cases have been discharged and 221 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“The 265 new cases are reported from 13 states- Lagos(133), Oyo(34), Edo(28), Ogun(23), FCT(22), Plateau(6), Kaduna (5), Borno(3), Niger(3), Kwara(2), Bauchi(2), Anambra(2), Enugu(2).”
