The topic of marriage and wedding are the most talked about topics which have led people to debate on the importance of wedding and another debating on why wedding cannot be classified as marriage in the African setting.
A former presidential aide to Goodluck Jonathan and popular author Reno Omokri has gotten people talking on Twitter after he said a church wedding is not a Christian marriage. Reno Omokri has taken to his Twitter page to share his opinion on church weddings.
According to the author Reno Omokri, a wedding held in the church cannot be termed a Christian marriage. He explained that the reason why people get married in church is that they see the men of God as representatives of God on earth hence allow men of God to bless their marriage.
Posing a question, he asked how the parents play their roles when it comes to marriage. He also asked that if men of God are God’s representatives, then who are the devil’s representatives. In conclusion, he stated that no blessing on earth is paramount to the blessings from parents when it comes to marriage.
He tweeted, “Church wedding is not Christian wedding. Some people say it is necessary because pastors are God’s representatives on Earth. My question is this: What are your parents? Devil’s representative? No blessing on Earth is greater than parental blessings”.
