Innocent Ujah Idibia aka 2face (tuface), now known as 2baba, is widely regarded as Nigeria’s greatest pop artist of all time. He is acknowledged with being one of the primary protagonists in the ascent to global prominence of what has been dubbed “the music of 21st century Africa.” His unique blend of reggae, R&B, and traditional African musical inspirations creates a vibe that is both current and universal while still retaining a distinct African character.
Bongos Ikwue is an Idoma by birth and identity, according to Vanguard. Bongos Ikwue was virtually a musical genre in his own right, with a voice that had character and could command any tune. His songs were born out of struggle that charged and pushed forward the entire time so that people could be in tune with reality. Bongos’ songs were the foundations of what he had done and continues to do for the welfare of humanity and society.
Bongos, like many of the greats, began singing as a child. In his style of music, he contributed an exceptional level of elegance and style. His sound is complex, with virtually unintelligible lyrics. Many people like him for his soulful, folk tunes, such as Cockcrow At Dawn, Still Searching, Amen, Otachikpokpo, and a slew of others.
