Nigeria records 627 new cases of Covid-19 as toll hits 15,181


Nigeria on Friday recorded another 627 Coronavirus cases, bringing total cases to 15,181.

This was made known by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control in a tweet via its official Twitter account.

According to the agency the new cases were recorded in this manner:

Similarly, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared that mothers with suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus can breastfeed.

WHO said based on the available evidence, the benefits of breastfeeding outweigh any potential risks of transmission of COVID-19.

While encouraging mothers to initiate and continue breastfeeding and not be separated from their infants, “unless the mother is too unwell”. WHO Director Ghebreyesus explained that evidence suggests children are at lower risk for catching the coronavirus than adults.
