Nigerians Eulogize Eedris Abdulkareem For The Song "Nigeria Jaga Jaga"

Many Nigerians are currently applaud the ace Nigerian singer and songwriter, Eedris Abdulkareem as his words in the controversial song ā€˜Nigeria jaga jagaā€™ are at play today in the country.

The current mishappenings in Nigeria have left the citizens devastated, they have lost trust, hope and everything in Nigeria ever being great again. To them, there is no sign of greatness since the leaders have chosen to turn a blind eye to the cry of the people.

Eedris had the worldā€™s attention when he released the song in 2004. ā€˜Jaga Jagaā€™ is a Yoruba term for shambles, declaring Nigeria as a country in shambles because of the corrupt practices by the leaders and people in higher places.

The then-president, Olusegun Obasanjo banned the song due to the lyrics which he found belittling. With the recent happenings, Eedris took to Twitter to quiz Nigerians if the song he did back then was right or wrong.

The replies were overwhelming as most of them found nothing wrong with the song. ā€œAs a matter of fact, the song tells the story of whatever is happening today,ā€ a fan said.
