Popular Islamic Scholar, Dan-Almajiri Dies In Kano


Renowned Kano Islamic scholar, Fadhlu Dan-Almajiri, is dead.

Aged 66, Dan-Almajiri died at his residence after a protracted illness.

The son of the deceased, Muntaka Dan-Almajiri, confirmed the death to our correspondent in Kano on Tuesday night.

The late Chairman, Kano State Friday Mosques Imams’ Forum, was survived by four wives, many children, and grandchildren and he has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

Meanwhile, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje in a condolence message described the late Dan-Almajiri as a peaceful scholar, whose worldview was to promote peace and tranquility amongst the human race.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, Ganduje was quoted as saying the state has lost an icon who left an enduring legacy.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje wishes to condole with the family, Kano Imams’ Forum, Tijjaniyya, Kano people over the death of Sheikh Fadhlu Dan-Almajiri, the Chairman of Kano State Friday Mosques Imams’ Forum.

“Sheikh Fadhlu Dan-Almajiri was a complete gentleman, whose leadership sterling qualities as a teacher and a leader proved how refined was the training he got from home.


“During his lifetime, Sheikh Dan-Almajiri was a very peaceful scholar, whose worldview was how to promote peace and tranquility amongst the human race
,” the governor said.

He prayed that God grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus (Highest Paradise) while his family and those attached to him, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
