Adamu Garba has raised concerns on moves and assertions of famous Islamic tutor and cleric Sheikh Gumi. He has asked him to state whether he is with the bandits or with Nigerians.
This comes in reaction to the advice of Sheikh Gumi to the federal government where he said the government should collect N100m from the Central Bank of Nigeria to settle the ransom which will free the abducted student of Greenfield Unversity, Kaduna.
In other news, he asked the federal government to grant amnesty to the bandits adding that this initiative will make them surrender.
Garba’s attention was drawn by one Twitter user @Yemi_News246 concerning Gumi’s recent actions, wondering why the cleric was not taken into the custody of Department of State Services.
He tweeted, “@adamugarba what do you have to say about Sheik Gumi recent activities? He is gradually becoming the financial secretary to the bandits/minister for banditry and ransom payments. It’s a shame that DSS has been compromised. I weep for my country.”
In response, Garba said, “I think Sheikh Gumi would have to explain in clear times whether he is together with the Bandits/Terrorists or with the Nigerian people.”
It is no news that the famous religious leader had met the bandits on many occasions and had established communications links with them. He is supposed to be the mediator and spokesperson of the bandits.
