The Sokoto Government has announced that the state has been declared coronavirus free following the discharge of the last five patients from the isolation centre.
The announcement was made by the states Ministry of Health via its Twitter account on Thursday.
The tweet reads “COVID19 update in Sokoto.
“All the remaining 5 active cases patients were today discharged to reunite with the society.
“Sokoto is now COVID19 active case free.
“Residents are advised to adhere seriously to preventive measures.”
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, on Wednesday announced that 348 new cases of the viral infection have been recorded in the country.
