Femi Adesina, President Muhamadu Buhari Special Adviser on Media and Publicity has come under attack for describing the RevolutionNow protest, which was held in different parts of Nigeria as child’s play and irritation.
Adesina made the statement on Thursday morning while speaking to Channels on Thursday morning.
According to him, it is funny to call such protests a revolution, adding that a revolution protests by their nature involves huge gatherings not what was seen yesterday
His comments have since stirred reactions from Nigerians who castigated him and warned him of life after 2023.
Here are some comments gathered by NAIJARAY from Twitter;
@AyanfeofGod “Femi Adesina does not know there is life beyond 2023. Posterity will judge him harshly.
@Aproko_doctor “One trend I’ve noticed with Femi Adesina is that he constantly talks down on people when they air their grievances against the government. We know your job is to paint the government white but he’s going about it like a man who has had one half of his brain removed. Do better.”
@Ugwunaejikem “Femi Adesina called the people who protested about the terrible state of this country small boys and girls playing. “Small boys playing” yet security forces in their full regalia clamped down violently on them? I know he’s doing his job but he’s going about it retarded.”
@Terryabiola “Femi Adesina is a disgrace. He thinks this government will remain in power forever. After this government, he will live in society and we shall see.”
@Pastorbam4life “Gbam! Imagine him calling the protest of yesterday a child’s play just because the number of people involved was infinitesimal. That man is nothing but a blind loyalist.”
@Lucasscot_101 “I can’t really blame Femi Adesina for calling the protest a child’s play. A lot of us were sitting down in our houses wishing, hoping and also praying that. Nigeria go better” reality never dawn on us yet. Nigeria can never be better with these old men recycling themselves.”
@Thelmoh “The way Femi Adesina ridicules Nigerians anytime they air their grievances is strange to see. There’s no pretence of concern at all from a government spokesperson. I feel a spokesperson should address the issues and try to de-escalate situations.”
