Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, popularly known as Uju Ken-Ohanenye, was born on December 23, 1973, in Anambra, South Eastern part of Nigeria. She is a producer of Nollywood films, a politician, an entrepreneur, and the first woman to run for president of Nigeria under the All Progressive Congress (APC).

She has never held a political role or accepted a job offer from the government. However, she has been a card-carrying APC member for a while. She has backed her party on numerous times by using her malls in Owerri and Abuja as political campaign offices and providing tens of thousands of people with T-shirts, posters, flyers, and face caps. Her passion for mankind is what drives her goal to be the best citizen of Nigeria.
Kennedy-Ohanenye is prepared to tackle the issue of poverty at the grassroots level because she believes that the nation needs a mother to bring about the change that the nation wants. She fears losing the party’s primary because she believes the males will try to push her aside. Nevertheless, she has vowed not to be scared because she has grown more confident. She has visited Beta Edu, the national APC women’s leader, and other key party elders who can help her realise her aim of leading the nation since she made her intentions public.
On July 27, 2023, she was nominated by the President of Nigeria, His Excellency Ahmed Bola Tinubu to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Barrister Uju Kennedy Ohanenye is regarded by many as just another kind-hearted philanthropist who contributes to those less privileged without demanding anything in return. She has built and provisioned a large number of health facilities in rural areas throughout the states of Kogi, Kaduna, Kano, Imo, and Anambra. In several of those states’ remote districts, she has also donated skill development facilities.
