Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has singled out goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, for praise following his side’s Carabao Cup fourth round tie victory over Liverpool on Thursday night.
Arteta’s side qualified for the Carabao Cup’s last eight, thanks to 5-4 win penalty shootout against the Premier League champions at Anfield following a 0-0 draw.
Arteta said Leno was helpful against Liverpool to get the Gunners through to the quarter-final where they will face Manchester City.
“I am really happy for Bernd and for his performance, the character that he’s shown tonight,” Arteta was quoted by Arsenal’s official website as saying after the game.
“It was really helpful to get us through to the next round.”
The Spaniard added: “He’s very stable, he works, he has his routines, and I don’t think he’s very bothered about what’s going on outside.”
