Mark and Mary meet at a local drug shop, where she is buying a pregnancy test, and he has to make an effort to remind her that they met in college. He follows her as she takes the test after he asks her out, and when the test comes back negative, she accepts to a date. After a year, they’ve fallen madly, passionately, and head over heels in love, and their whirlwind relationship culminates in marriage. As a result, when Mary unexpectedly requests that they open their relationship to “ethical non-monogamy,” Mark is taken aback but decides to give it a shot. This is when the story really starts.
