“Release Baba Ijesha On Bail Now, It is Illegal To Deny Him Bail” – Yomi Fabiyi Tells Police

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has asked the police to release Yoruba actor Baba Ijesha on bail immediately before he stages a protest.

This comes after the actor paid a visit to Baba Ijesha in prison and confirmed his colleague’s confession, which he says is not guilty.

Yomi argued in a recent Instagram outburst that Baba Ijesha is entitled to his fundamental human right to be granted bail as he proceeds to stage a protest.

In his words;

It is against the law to hold any suspect dow longer than allowed and our law without trial/ba bail for any bailable offence in Nigeria.
To continue hold him i against his FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT’ It is INJUSTICE and Abuse of power. Do NO indulge it.

It is ILLEGAL and against the law to DENY anybody BAIL for any bailable offence in Nigeria.
It is gross HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE and a TOOL of OPPRESSION for any other Nigerian no matter how highly placed to give such order to detain indefinitely except a seating judge.
If you can’t be honest to peacefully protest against such injustice, any state that indulges such is INCITING VIOLENCE.

In recent news, Nigerian actor, Yomi Fabiyi has shared interesting development to the alleged rape case involving his colleague, Baba Ijesha and a minor.

Speaking to City People, monitored by Gistreel news, Yomi disclosed that he visited Baba Ijesha and Baba Ijesha denied the allegations that he raped the girl at any point in time, and the victim did not accuse him of raping her.

”I went there. I created time and I sought audience to speak with him. They told him. It’s not like we are close. He doesn’t know where I live. I don’t know where he lives. He hasn’t been in my movie before, for close to 18 years that I have been producing. But I must respect the fact that he is a colleague. We have acted together. We have met abroad together. He cared for me and I cared for him. We are one family no matter what anybody says,” Yomi Fabiyi revealed.

“I saw him and I was like I want you to tell me in all honesty, did you rape the young girl? because I was having images in my head and I don’t want to believe he is the one.

He told me that Yomi, there was never a time I raped this lady and this lady never said I raped her. Go and ask her. I said the police said you confessed to the crime. What is in the video they are talking about and what crime did you confess to?

He said ‘Yomi, they showed me a CCTV after they bundled me. They came in, started beating me, they started torturing me. Then they showed me CCTV touching the girl,” he added.
